We are excited to share Family Promise of Anderson County’s (FPAC) participation in the 17th Annual Dancing for Our Heroes charity event hosted by the Rotary Club of Greater Anderson. This vibrant event brings together community members, dancers, and local charities to raise funds for vital causes. Jim Boyer, a board member of Family Promise of Anderson, and his granddaughter, Ellis Ripley, a 12-year-old seventh grader at McCants Middle School and a competitive dancer with the Anderson School of Dance, participated in a benefit for FPAC. This outstanding duo performed a routine to "My Girl," choreographed by Shelby Holden from the Anderson School of Dance, and their performance earned them both the People's Choice and Judge's Choice Awards.
This marks only the second time in the event's 17-year history that a duo has clinched both titles.
Through their performance and subsequent fundraising efforts, including contributions from Rotary, Jim and Ellis raised $23,700. These funds will significantly contribute to helping families achieve financial stability and independence by expanding our shelter capacity. We immensely thank everyone who supported Jim and Ellis in their commitment to a cause they deeply care about.
