Family Promise of Anderson County host two annual campaigns each year to support our mission. Homeless awareness is often silent on the subject of children. Our two annual events strives to break the silence in our community concerning innocent children. Children are often unseen and unheard. Our charity endeavors to break the stereotype of homelessness. This is a community effort. Our mission is to make homelessness a distant memory instead of an ever-present threat for families with children.
This event is one of our FUNraisers to support our work to empower homeless children and their families to regain their independence. This is a fun way families, groups, teams, businesses, churches, organizations, sororities, fraternities, and etc. to have fun while supporting an awesome cause. Participants are competing for titles such Best Fundraiser, Best Overall Team, Player with the Most Strikes, Better Luck Next Time (lowest team score), Youngest Player, and the Oldest Player. Each participant is encouraged to raise money to support our work with homeless children and their families.
Homeless for the Homeless (H4H) is an event focused on bringing awareness to our community. This is an overnight event that allows participants to view homelessness from the perspective of our program participants. Participants are otherwise known as "Box City Families," will construct and live in their cardboard home for the night. They will also participate in a homeless simulation. Each "Box City Family" will be given a scenario describing their current situation. Then, strive to resolve their homeless situation by seeking assistance from community resources.
Our community is full of people who want to help. Ending homeless for children and their families is a community effort. We strive to connect those in need with resources in the community. Volunteers, sponsors, donors, and ministry partners are all needed to provide a support system to ensure the success of families regaining stability. Come connect with people in new ways.
